Hope all my fellow Canadians had a great Canada Day! Unfortunately in New York, I didn’t get a chance to get a day off. However, I did manage to make my own poutine! For those Americans who don’t know what that is, it’s basically fries covered in cheese curds, smothered in gravy. But instead of gravy, our version uses Japanese curry.
Here’s what you’ll need:
One bag of pre-made fries
Half a box of Kokumaru
Two cups of water
Cheese curds (but if you don’t have that, mozzarella or something similar will do)
Bake the fries for whatever time the bag says, then crumble the cheese all over them. To make the curry, boil the water and dump the curry in it. Stir it a bit until it congeals. Pour the curry over the fries and cheese and enjoy!
